Initial Pelvic Floor Therapy Evaluation
The pelvic floor works as an integral part of a larger system, so a detailed social and medical history is key. You can also expect a core function and breathing assessment, strength testing, movement analysis, postural assessment, and (with consent) an internal vaginal or rectal pelvic floor muscle examination. There will be lots of education for you, some initial treatment, and initiation of an individualized home program. Treating therapists have each completed over 100 hours of continuing education (including didactic and manual practice) and have specialized exclusively in the area of pelvic health for 3-6 years.
